Pack those hand warmers, it’s starting to get chilly! Public access docks will be removed soon, so you should probably pack your muck boots or waders too. It will be worth the hassle though, as the fishing is going to get better with each passing day! Walleyes are moving from the midlake structure back toward breaklines near shore right now and, while we’ve been catching them in 17’-26’ this past week, you can find them shallower too. A jig and a minnow is really all you need, but slip bobber and live bait rigs will also produce. Pike, plus large and smallmouth bass are biting on big minnows and big plastics right now, and you will continue to find them shallower. We’ve caught those species in 10’-18’ the past week. Thanks for reading and good luck to those still fishing!
