Walleye fishing has been great lately! Many anglers are catching trophy eyes, while others are bagging their limit of eaters. They are biting consistently in 8’-15’, (you’ll find bluegill too as you get into the 15’ range). Leeches have been the go bait for walleye, under a bobber or on a jig, but small minnows and crawlers are producing too. In addition to jigs and bobbers, some have reported the bottom bouncer spinner bite has taken off too. There are many options to try! Largemouth bass are spread out, from 2’-14’, relating to reeds, lily pads, and cabbage. They’re chasing plastic worms and swimbaits. Small pike are still in 10’-14’ in most lakes, while big pike are roaming around 20’. Many crappies are still hugging weedlines in 8’-12’. I hope you have time to get on the water this week. If you do go out, good luck and have fun!
