Detroit Lakes Fishing Report (10/8/24)

Muskies in lakes country are moving!  The bite is getting better each day.  I'm finding most of my fish in and around green weeds. Bucktails, topwater, and jerk baits have been my best producers, with live bait picking off a few as well.  One thing that can help this time of year is changing your casting angles and don't be afraid to look in places you normally wouldn't. With warm weather hanging on there's still some hot early fall action to be had.

Walleyes are firing on all cylinders. Look for steep breaks closer to structure. Minnows and reaction baits have been my go to.  Rig or jig the minnows along the break in 24-32ft working up and back down until you dial in a depth.

Still plenty of fishing to be had!
