Detroit Lakes Fishing Report (10/31/24)

👻🧟‍♂️HAPPY HALLOWEEN!💀🎃

😱 Do you like my spooky walleye pic?

Okay, I'll stick to fishing...🤣🤣

As reported last week, we found Walleyes in 18’-22’.  While we are finding them deep, 'eyes will also be found shallower, from 4’-10’ for the remainder of the season–especially during low light hours.  In other words, they are everywhere, from 4’-22’. Every lake and every day is different so cover some water and you'll find fish.  Bass fisherman should keep trying blue and black plastics but also consider throwing big crankbaits in a variety of colors to tune in what they want.  Although you’re throwing big crankbaits, fight the urge to retrieve them fast.  Big fish want big meals, but they don’t want to chase the meals too far.  Retrieving your crankbait with a slow wobble is your hot tip for the week.  Lastly, the big muskie bite will keep going and going and going…it’s getting colder but the water will remain open for a few more weeks, which will extend the muskie season for those of you chasing giants.  As the Fall progresses even more, try using even bigger sucker minnows beneath a bobber.  I’m talking 12”-18” or bigger!  With the movie Jaws in mind, I’ll say “You’re gonna need a bigger bobber!” 😃 Good luck all!

❄️Ice fishing is around the corner!🎣
